- The Culinary of Rivera
By Autumn
We are very excited to be working with our newest client: Rivera Restaurant.
John Rivera Sedlar, Bill Chait, & Eddie Sotto have partnered up to launch the first sophisticated, modern latin restaurant at the Met Lofts on Flower and 11th, downtown Los Angeles. Think about becoming a member of the tequila program and have your own key to your own custom labeled bottle. How chic. The grand opening is January 16, 2009.

- Otto Heino in Ojai
By Autumn
I just arrived home from a holiday trip in Ojai, with one of my favorite couples, friends Miye McCullough and Eric Goode. This is where I disappear to from Los Angeles.(click click)
We visited Otto Heino’s legendary pottery studio. He is 95, thriving, full of energy, barely any wrinkles and works 16 hours a day. He drives a bentley and an old black mustang convertible and had a myriad of jet fighting stories. Otto, originally from New Hampshire, served in World War II. He was a waist gunner on a B-17 bomber and survived 40 bombing missions over Europe, with an extended enlistment of five and a half years. After the war and seeking some tranquillity, Otto began his career as an artist.(Otto Heino)

- Rainer Maria Rilke
By Autumn
One of my favorite poets is Rilke, born in Prague.

I want to be with those who know secret things or else alone.

A person isn’t who they are during the last conversation you had with them - they’re who they’ve been throughout your whole relationship.

Believe that with your feelings and your work you are taking part in the greatest; the more strongly you cultivate this belief, the more will reality and the world go forth from it.

I hold this to be the highest task for a bond between two people: that each protects the solitude of the other.

No great art has ever been made without the artist having known danger.

Once the realization is accepted that even between the closest human beings infinite distances continue, a wonderful living side by side can grow, if they succeed in loving the distance between them which makes it possible for each to see the other whole against the sky.

One had to take some action against fear when once it laid hold of one.

Perhaps everything terrible is in its deepest being something helpless that wants help from us.

Drove to Ojai this weekend to hang with Serge and lovely friends visiting from NYC. I took photos of Eric Goode’s exquisitely designed landscape and his turtle conservation empire was fascinating. Fire, wine & quality moments in the countryside. xx

Pdf invitations we created for a sharp view on screen, to present the Debonnaire project to collaborators. The rectangle puzzle gives movement to the grid in a controlled manner, as they reappear throughout the document with a mirror effect. The relation between type, image and space is carefully calculated to feel playful without being superficial. Simple, bold… And yet, intriguing. Photos by Sinisha Nisevic.

We were recently hired to brand an emerging yoga company and reconstruct their entire image. For Dali Mama Yoga, we wanted to give them a contemporary edge and steer away from the typical design often used in the yoga world. This image from S magazine inspired our work. - The Art of Books

The intention behind Debonnaire’s image creation was to be timeless and playful. A minimalist but elaborate direction was preferred. Each letter was designed using the same template. Joined together, the architecture of the ten letters recreate the original grid, there is a confident conceptual logic behind its aesthetic. The logo presents itself in two interdependent layers that are superimposed in this tight framework. The bars in the background are pillars that embody the durable foundations of the company, and on top, the fine lines are part of the structure that characterizes its ever evolving creativity. The composition is rigid but nevertheless allows leeway for its numerous applications.—
